Professor Paul Scuffham (PhD) is the Director of the Menzies Health Institute Queensland. His research focusses on value for money, measurement of health outcomes and priority setting in healthcare with the aim of translating effective interventions into policy and practice. He has published over 300 articles in peer reviewed journals, economics discussion papers and commissioned reports. His economic research has had a major impact on the listing of new pharmaceuticals on the PBS. He led the development of processes for estimating the potential effectiveness and value for money of implementing new health care services.
