Dr Annie Lau (BE, PhD) is a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Health Informatics (CHI) within the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University. She leads the most active consumer informatics research program in Australia, which is part of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Digital Health. Her research investigates new approaches to improve patient health using digital technology. Specifically, it involves 1) using digital technology to study patient needs and behaviours, 2) designing digital health interventions that address patients’ needs (e.g. mobile apps, websites), and 3) applying rigorous methodology (e.g. randomised controlled trial) to assess their impact on health outcomes.Health Informatics.
