Associate Professor Adrian Bickerstaffe (BCompSc, PhD) is an Academic Specialist and computer scientist within the Centre for Epidemiology and Biostatistics, The Melbourne School of Population and Global Health. His areas of expertise include big data processing, creation of online tools for disease risk assessment, intervention and screening, and development of integrated health systems using international health data standards. He has transformed informatics for large-scale population health studies, consortia, and research registries, e.g., Twins Research Australia, Register4, Lifepool, and the international Colon Cancer Family Registry. He is a recognized leader in the development of online decision support tools, e.g. iPrevent, that are used daily by clinicians state- and nation-wide. He collaborates with local/international population health researchers, general practitioners, policy advisors, industry representatives and builders of research computing infrastructure.
